Maximizing the Pacific’s Performance at Home and Beyond
The Oceania National Olympic Committees are pleased to announce DAY ONE of the 10-Year roadmap for Pacific islands athletes and national federations to BRISBANE 2032. This is the first, concerted, deliberate, and collective effort to identify and prepare the best Pacific athletes on a long-term approach to medal at any Olympic Games.
The evolving strategy goes well beyond athletes to address the support ecosystem that sport requires to produce champions at the largest sports gathering in the world – the Olympic Games. The ambitious approach draws from 40 years of ONOC learnings and Pacific Islander performances to develop athletes, coaches, technical officials, and national and regional Pacific federations to transform the Pacific sport industry.
In the spirit of excellence, friendship and respect, the roadmap will also feature social, cultural, and cultural components suited to the Pacific islands’ athlete, coach, or technical official to ensure we stand a greater chance of partaking of the global feast of sport. In the end, we have gains to be made in health, livelihoods, and of placing high in the world of sport which opens numerous benefits to people, countries, and communities across our islands.

The Oceania Roadmap to B2032 - Atma Maharaj
ONOC Lead for its B2032, Atma Maharaj, says the Roadmap to B2032 is an ambitious, yet practical aspirational goal to produce a 300% to 500% improvement on the Pacific islands previous Olympics and Paralympics Games performances at B2032. It is an ideal catalyst to proactively create a revolution and a giant leap forward, to build capacity, strengthen relationships, deliver performance outcomes, generate sustainable and positive change throughout the region, with a legacy well beyond 2032. The roadmap focuses on athletes and the ecosystem of sports professionals needed to develop a generation of high-performance sportspeople to carry the Pacific Islands forward to a new era.
