Pacific Nations Called to Join Crucial Legacy Talks for Brisbane 2032

The Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) is calling on National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and respective National Sports Federations from across the Pacific to seize a once-in-a-generation opportunity by actively participating in the consultation sessions for the ONOC Legacy Strategy for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

With the Brisbane 2032 Games set to bring transformative opportunities for sport development in Oceania, these consultations are crucial for shaping a long-term strategy that ensures the Pacific benefits well beyond 2032.

Planned Consultation Sessions

Thursday, 6 February 2025 – 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (Fiji Time)

Thursday, 13 February 2025 – 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (Fiji Time)

Why This Matters

ONOC is working to ensure that sport in the Pacific is well-positioned to access legacy opportunities from Brisbane 2032, including high-performance development, community sport growth, and sustainable sports infrastructure. These consultations will shape national sports plans leading into 2032 and align with the Brisbane Organising Committee and Queensland Government Legacy Plans.

Who Should Attend?

ONOC extends this invitation to:

  • National Olympic Committees (NOCs)
  • National Sports Federations (especially those that competed in the last three Olympic and Paralympic Games)
  • National Sports Commissions, Institutes, and Councils
  • Senior Government Officials responsible for sport and development

What to Expect in the Consultation

Participants will contribute to discussions on:

  • The vision and roadmap for Oceania’s sporting future
  • High Performance, Community Sport, Culture, Social and Environmental Development
  • Knowledge and Capacity Building for sustainable growth
