We join millions of people across the world in celebrating Olympic Day - the anniversary of the founding of the modern Olympic Movement in 1894. It is a day that reminds us of the power of sport to inspire hope, unite communities and create positive change.

We join millions of people across the world in celebrating Olympic Day - the anniversary of the founding of the modern Olympic Movement in 1894. It is a day that reminds us of the power of sport to inspire hope, unite communities and create positive change.

This year's global theme, "You Can Do This. Let's Move.", carries a simple yet powerful message. It reminds us that movement begins with a single step and that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to embrace a healthier, more active lifestyle.

Here in Oceania, movement has always been part of who we are.

It is found in the paddle of a canoe crossing our blue Pacific, in the rhythm of our traditional dances, in children playing on beaches and village greens, and in communities coming together through sport. Physical activity is deeply connected to our cultures, our wellbeing and our identity as Pacific people.

Yet, like many parts of the world, we are seeing too many young people moving less.

Often, the greatest barrier is not physical ability - it is self-doubt. That quiet voice that says, "I'm not ready." "I'm not good enough." "I can't."

Today, our message to every young person across Oceania is simple:

You do not need to be perfect to begin. You only need to begin.

One step.

One walk.

One game.

One swim.

One dance.

One session with your family or friends.

Through movement comes confidence. Through confidence comes resilience. And through resilience we build stronger people and stronger communities.

At the Oceania National Olympic Committees, this message is not only something we promote - it is something we are committed to living ourselves.

As ONOC continues its organisational Reset, we are placing greater emphasis on wellbeing, collaboration and creating a healthier workplace culture across our Secretariat.

Olympic Day provided an opportunity for our secretariat staff in Suva, Fiji to put this commitment into action through a special Wednesday Wellness activation at the HFC Stadium, where colleagues came together to move, encourage one another and celebrate the joy of being active.

The activity reflected the values that underpin our Reset journey - working together, supporting one another, embracing positive change and recognising that sustainable high performance begins with healthy people.

As we strengthen ONOC for the future, we remain equally committed to supporting our National Olympic Committees, athletes, volunteers and communities to build healthier and more active Pacific nations.

Olympic Day reminds us that sport is far more than competition. It is about inclusion, friendship, respect and excellence. It is about creating opportunities for every person to discover their potential and experience the confidence that movement can bring.

I encourage every National Olympic Committee, every sports organisation, every school, every family and every community across Oceania to continue creating opportunities for people to move - not just today, but every day.

Together, let us inspire the next generation to believe in themselves, to embrace active living and to strengthen our Pacific communities through sport.

Because every journey begins with one step.

You can do this.

Let's Move, Oceania.
