"I got a new PB and national record, and I'm very happy about that," she said, though she expressed some disappointment with her dive.

Eighteen-year-old Loane said it took her some time to realize she was competing at the Olympics.

"It's such a big competition and a dream for every athlete," she shared.

When notified that she was representing Vanuatu at the Olympics, she felt proud and excited.

Loane graduated from high school in Vanuatu in 2023 and is now studying at the University of Queensland in Australia, where she trains with her university swimming club.

She made history as the first female swimmer from Vanuatu to compete at the Olympic Games, clocking a personal best time of 28.86 in the 50 meters freestyle event at the Paris La Defense Arena.

Having given her best at her first Olympics, Loane plans to return to her normal study routine and continue training harder.

She expressed her passion for swimming and looks forward to more competitions in the future.
