The i-Kiribati who was also the flag bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, competed in the Women’s 57kg Judo event at Champ-de-Mars Arena.

She lost to Ukraine’s Bilodid Daria.

Tieba is the youngest of 11 judo teens at the 2024 Paris Games.

“I have learnt and experienced so much in my first Olympic being the youngest on the team,” she said.

"Making it here as a 15-year-old is a big achievement.

“The best thing is seeing a lot of people and different flags with the countries they represent.

While the crowd was a bit intimidating for Tiebwa, she was reminded to remain calm.

“I was nervous but need to focus on my target,” she said.

“I want to thank all my supporters who helped me get here especially my family and my coach.”

She has competed in Judo meets in a few countries including Turkmenistan and the Pacific Games Solomon Islands 2023.
