PARIS 2024

31 July brought forth much anticipation for our region as with only one event on the schedule, all eyes were on Team Guam’s Manami Iijima as she competed in the Women's Individual Triathlon.

Manami had been training rigorously for this moment, representing Guam and the entire Pacific region in the demanding triathlon event. Unfortunately, the competition was cut short for Manami due to an accident on a very wet bike course. Despite her strong start and determination, she was unable to finish the event.

While the results were not what we had hoped for, Manami's presence at the Olympics is an achievement on its own. It is the culmination of four years of hard work and dedication to be present at these Games. The entire Pacific community stands proud of her efforts and resilience.
