Fiti completes FSM Tokyo 2020 Participation

Running a season’s best, Scott Fiti completed the Federated States of Micronesia’s (FSM) participation today at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

TOKYO (FSMOC) 31 JUL 2021 --- Fiti, from Chuuk State, FSM, and an IOC Olympic Solidarity Athlete Scholarship recipient, ran 11.25 seconds in the third preliminary heat of the Men’s 100 meter dash finishing sixth out of nine competitors.

“Scott had a solid race today and I was most impressed with his ability to finish strong,” said Coach Karatel Phillip “And the fact that he beat two other Oceania athletes in his race was impressive as well.”

Fiti is scheduled to compete internationally again for FSM at the Pacific Mini- Games to be hosted by Saipan in the Northern Marianas in June 2022 and the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA in July 2022.

“Our athletes competed very well in Tokyo and are role models for Micronesia,” said Jim Tobin, FSM Olympic Committee (FSMOC) Secretary General. “Our NOC and the entire country are so pleased with their performances in Japan”.
