Alii and warm Pacific greetings.
As we gather at this special time of the year, I extend my warmest Christmas greetings to our National Olympic Committees, athletes, partners, across Oceania and the Olympic Movement.
I also wish to acknowledge, with appreciation, the ongoing support and partnership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). Your guidance, collaboration, and confidence in Oceania continue to play an important role in strengthening our region and advancing the Olympic Movement.
Christmas is a season of reflection, gratitude, and renewed purpose. It invites us to pause, to recognise what we have achieved together, and to look ahead with unity and confidence.
2025 has been an important year for ONOC, marked by reflection and renewal.
Anchored in the ONOC Strategic Plan 2025-208, we have worked together to consider and taken deliberate step for this year through a period of transition of reset. This process enabled us to reflect, learn, understand, to be better to strengthen our ONOC governance, systems, and organisational foundations, ensuring we are well positioned to deliver our services to our Oceania - National Olympic Committees effectively to support our members and athletes into the future and sustainably.
This work has reinforced the importance of clear communication, strong partnerships, and ongoing dialogue across the ONOC family. The constructive engagement of our National Olympic Committees, together with the support of our regional partners and international partners, continues to shape and guide our shared direction.
I would like to acknowledge the ONOC Secretariat and its leadership, for guiding this important work with professionalism and care while maintaining continuity of service to our members.
To our ONOC staff, thank you for your resilience, adaptability, and dedication during a year of transition.
To our Executive Board and Commissions, thank you for your stewardship and commitment to the long-term interests of Oceania sport.
To our 17 National Olympic Committees, thank you for your partnership, trust, and shared commitment to our athletes and communities.
As we look ahead to the coming year and toward major milestones, including our collective journey to Brisbane 2032, we do so with confidence, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Together - with our NOCs, the IOC, ANOC, and our wider partners - we are building a stronger ONOC, grounded in collaboration, integrity, and shared ambition.
On behalf of the ONOC Executive Board, our Vice President Emma Waiwai, and Secretary General Rick Blas, I wish you and your families a blessed Christmas and a safe and restful holiday period.
May the New Year bring good health, renewed energy, and continued unity as we deliver on our shared vision for sport in Oceania.
Mesulang and thank you.
