The federation released the names of its final squad members on Sunday via its facebook page.

“We are pleased to announce and confirm that Solomon Islands Boxing Federation has selected its final Boxing Squad for the upcoming 2023 Pacific Games,” it said.

“We also wish to congratulate our national representatives for Team Solomon Islands who will be competing in the Pacific Games. Go Team Boxing,” the federation added.

The men’s category consists of 12 boxers, whilst the female category consists of 7 boxers.

The men’s category includes:

• Phineas Pitakoe & Mason Norman (minimum weight 46kg-48kg)

• Junior Monka Navo & Dennis Ilala (Bantam weight 54kg)

• Maximilian Brechtefeld Makana & Ryan Mark Gavin (Men’s lightweight 60kg)

• Joshua O’oku & Petsy Seka (welterweight 67kg category)

• Osward Talaka & Isiah Hairikoi (Middleweight category)

• Francis Nuisaru & David Samo Jnr (cruiserweight 86kg category)

The Female Category includes:

• Betcy Kavaza & Louisa Eme Ngoni (Minimum weight 45kg-48kg)

• Ella Kaka & Constance Abana (flyweight 52kg)

• Maria Koputu & Veronica Megabule Ruvah (lightweight 63kg)

• Beata Keiaka (light middleweight 70kg)

As the countdown to the Pacific Games here in Honiara continues, SIBF said Team Boxing Final Squad members are in good form and are gearing up with their final trainings.
