XLII ONOC General Assembly, 2022

The ONOC membership meets for its 42nd Annual General Assembly (AGA) from 30th April to 4th May this year.

It will feature elections which are scheduled at the turn of every quadrennial Olympic cycle – one every four years. This one is delayed by a year given the postponement of the TOKYO 2020 Games.

The ONOC 42nd AGA takes place in Nadi (FIJI) in a hybrid format incorporating in-person and virtual online attendance. This is after two General Assemblies held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Assembly will be chaired by current President, Robin Mitchell (FIJ). The ONOC Vice-President is Baklai Temengil (PLW).

The ONOC General Assembly also reviews and approves budgetary and financial reports, and receives programme reports, key ones being the Oceania (Continental Programmes) Olympic Solidarity Programme and the Oceania Sport Education Programme. The ONOC General Assembly also receives reports from the various ONOC Commissions as well from stakeholders and partners.

Opening of the new ONOC Headquarters by IOC President, Thomas Bach

ONOC achieves one its biggest milestones in securing a permanent home in Suva, Fiji. The land and building at 49 Gladstone Road in the Fijian capital’s city centre overlooks the historic Albert Park, a centre for Suva’s sporting and physically active community. On either arm, ONOC now faces the iconic Grand Pacific Hotel and the waterfront with the Republic of Fiji’s Government Buildings and its famous clock tower on its right and the historic Thurston Gardens and the Fiji Museum on its left. ONOC looks forward to welcoming members and visitors to its new home from Opening Day and into the future.
